FIND A WAY OR MAKE A WAY

WEDNES DAY, 15TH JANUARY, 2020 .
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “YOU CAN’T SEE GOD’S HANDS WHEN YOUR EYES ARE FULL OF TEARS ”
ANCHOR TEXT:
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it ” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Complaining, depression, self-pity and self-comparison have never been solutions to any problem. Psalm 1:6 says; ‘for the LORD watches over the way of the righteous…’. This implies that for every challenge, a solution has already been proffered by God, waiting for you to discover and apply. But you cannot perceive that subtle solution when your eyes are full of tears, when you are down with depression! Because we actually see with our minds. A confused mind and an unhappy person cannot see anything. The great Italian war general, General Hannibal, once screamed in anger; ‘I shall find a way or make a way’ when he was told that nobody or no army troop could cross the Alps (the tough and rough mountains of Southern Europe) with elephants! Of course He did! It was not in a depression mood that David got clue to solving his problems. Solution came as he pulled himself together and stopped crying. There is something good in every circumstance. Annie Clark, a 7 year old child born without hands but with ‘excellent’ spirit won a national USA award for penmanship. A

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “WHERE SINS ABOUND, GOD’S LOVE ABOUNDS MUCH MORE”
ANCHOR TEXT:
“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” John 8:11.

A young man, the only son of a New England farmer, indulged in criminalities and wasteful lifestyle when at college and incurred debts which he could not pay. He was arrested for forging the name of a friend of his father. After he was tried, convicted and sentenced, he escaped from the police on the way to prison and hid in the far west. The father raised funds to cover the forgery, got a pardon from the governor for his son and spent several thousands of pounds to hire a private detective to find him. Coincidentally, the hired detective was the former police officer from whom his son escaped. The young man’s father gave the former officer a note for his son and sent him to find him. He did find him. The room in which he was found had but one entrance, so that escape could only be made by the door through which the police officer entered. No sooner had he come into the room than the young man recognized the detective and supposed that he had been hunted down at last and would be re-arrested and taken back to prison. He rushed for the door. (more…)

INTEGRITY

MONDAY, 13TH JANUARY, 2020.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “INTEGRITY IS THE ULTIMATE VIRTUE”
ANCHOR TEXT:
“Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide” Psalm 26:1.

Integrity is a lifter of life and destiny. It is an important virtue which everyone is expected to build, work hard to protect and preserve. It can take years to build, but can be lost within seconds. What is integrity? It is completeness, moral innocence or perfection. It is a high standard of living based on a personal code of morality that does not succumb to the whim of the moment or the dictates of the majority. Why is integrity that important? It is who you are to others. It determines how you react in certain situations. When you are confronted with circumstances where you have choice to either do right or do wrong, your integrity or lack of it will determine what you do. A good example of a man of integrity is Joseph. His destiny could not be aborted because he avoided iniquity and held unto righteousness. He was tempted to commit immorality with Potiphar’s wife, but he refused to trade his destiny for few minutes pleasure: there is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God: (Genesis 39:9).
