ANCHOR TEXT: “So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook”
1 Kings 17:5-6.
p style=”text-align: justify;”>You cannot be blessed further than the last of God’s directive you obeyed, you cannot be lifted higher or walk with God further than His last instruction you obeyed. Why do I say this? Our walk with God is progressive. Every stage of our lives is a pre-requisite to the next. Obedience to the last directive is a pre-requisite to the next. Until the last instruction is obeyed, He does not give another. God’s relationship with prophet Elijah that inspired today’s message was progressive. The first instruction God gave to him was to turn eastward, and hide himself by the brook called Cherith, that is before Jordan because that was where God’s provision was at that point in time. Because he obeyed according to verse five, he enjoyed the first phase of God’s supernatural provision. Consequently, another instruction came, according to verse nine, this time around; he was to shift his base to Zarephath towards the gate of the city where another provision awaited him.
