For every position you occupy, there will be opposition from somewhere. For every achievement, there are or there is someone somewhere secretly saying ‘I wish I were the one’. For instance, the land on which you erect your building is making someone unhappy, the customers patronizing you; the many clients you have, the people assisting you and several other visible exploits from you are making some people uncomfortable. Jesus, as perfect as He was, while on earth was terribly hated and criticized by the Pharisees, Sadducees and the Scribes. Isaac’s effort at digging a well of water was frustrated, such that he had to keep moving from place to place until he finally succeeded at a place called Rehoboth. ‘He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth saying, ‘now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land’ Genesis 26:22. When everyone is hailing you, something must be wrong somewhere. (more…)
