QUOTE OF THE DAY: “WHEN PRAISES GO UP, BLESSINGS COME DOWN”
ANCHOR TEXT:
“And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten” 2 Chronicles 20:22.

One of the fastest ways to get God’s attention is to lift your voice and praise Him. Everybody praises God when things are smooth and rosy but the true test of a man’s faith and trust in God takes place when things are tough and rough. For instance, take a look at these situations: when God says; ‘I have healed you’ and the doctor’s report says, ‘you have just a few days to live’, when God says that ‘you will be fruitful…’ but the doctor’s report says that ‘your womb is damaged. You will never be able to carry a baby again’ or when men say your age is a barrier to your getting married or you encounter disappointments from your helpers or when your business seems to crawl instead of running and so on. In these circumstances, what do you do? Do you resign to fate or bow your head in dejection, do you give voice to faith, or let the negative report silence the voice of faith? The mind may be very heavy such that it may be difficult to pray. (more…)

WHERE IS YOUR IDENTITY?

WEDNES DAY, 8TH JANUARY, 2020 .
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “WITHOUT IDENTITY, YOU ARE A NON -ENTITY”
ANCHOR TEXT:
“Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God ” 1 Corinthians 7:24.

If your name is mentioned, what is it that readily comes to people’s mind? What is it that people associate your name to? Having an identity is one of the pillars of wisdom. To be identifiable is to be known for something. It also means staying put to a course one believes in. For example, it could be one’s faith, profession, discovery and so on. It is sticking to one’s gift or calling until it produces the desired result. An understanding of the subject of identity makes a man outstanding. People are stranded today, not because they have not discovered themselves, but because they fail to stay by those discoveries until they become known. In Daniel 3:13 -18, the three Hebrews boldly made their identity known as true believers in God by refusing to compromise. Besides, they did not bow to the graven image set up by the king, despite the threats of death via fiery furnace. The question is, what are you known for or what do you stand for ? Except you stand for something, you will fall for anything. No one can make meaningful impact except one is known for something. (more…)

PRAY, DON’T BEG TODAY’S

QUOTE: “WHATEVER IS WORTH WORRYING ABOUT IS WORTH PRAYING ABOUT” ANCHOR TEXT:
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” Philippians 4:6. he devil smiles when we make plans, he laughs when we get too busy, but he trembles when we pray. Prayer creates momentum. It lifts the heart above the pressures of life and offers it a view of God’s resources of victory and hope. I have come to discover that the most powerful energy anyone can generate is that of prayer. Whenever you feel swept off your feet, always try to get back on your knees. And as a matter of fact, God is never more than a prayer away from you. In addition, heaven is ever ready to receive whoever prays. Besides, time spent in sweet communion with God is neither a waste nor lost. For instance, it was through fervent prayers that Daniel got the correct interpretation of the King’s dream. It was in the place of prayers that Jesus got connected to the grace by which He overcame series of temptations that confronted Him prior to His crucifixion.
