QUOTE OF THE DAY: “ENDING WELL IS GREATER THAN STARTING WELL”

Memory Verse: “So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself”
Matthew 27:5.

It is not all those who started well that ended well. You may have started well, however, certain things need to be put in place, otherwise, ending well may not be possible. One of the reasons for all the attacks you are facing in your career, ministry, marriage, children, academics, and with life in general is that the devil does not want you to finish this race on earth well.

I can point to a good number of people in the scripture who started well but did not end well. I can also make reference to certain people who started well and ended well. For instance, Judas, one of the disciples of Jesus Christ unfortunately got distracted by covetousness and uncontrolled pilfering and his ministerial destiny was abruptly terminated by suicide, despite the fact that he started well.

Jesus started His ministerial assignment well and to God’s glory, he ended it well. How you start a thing is not as important as how you end it. How you join a church is not as important as how you leave the church. How you came into the world is not as important as how you leave. The enemy has always been waiting for every one of us at the end of our endeavours and undertakings.

One of the reasons you should strive to end well in all circumstances is that; people do not always remember how you started, but the circumstance around your exit lingers in their memory.

It speaks a lot about you. Ending well was so important to Paul. He had to endure all pains and trials in order to finish his course with joy. Do you want to end well? Discipline yourself and do away with all distractions – sins, disobedience. Adhere to the laid down principles guiding the race you are running. Make a determination to end well, and rely on God’s grace. God will see you through. You will end well in Jesus name.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “MENTAL RESTRICTION IS THE WORST OF ALL RESTRICTIONS”

Memory Verse: “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them” Numbers 13:33.

Two men (a pastor and another man) went to a mountain to pray, while the other man was praying, the pastor somehow heard what he was asking God for. The man was fervently asking God for his salary to be increased at his place of work. According to the pastor, God told him that the man who was asking for a salary increase could actually be an employer of labour. However, because he did not know what he was worth, he kept limiting himself in his prayers to an employee instead of an employer of labour. There are limiting prayers; there are limiting confessions and even limiting relationships.

Many times, because we do not know what our worth is, we limit ourselves. And the moment you put a limit on yourself, God is helpless! In our generation today, people who should be counting millions are counting thousands; those who should be counting thousands are counting hundreds and those who should be counting hundreds are counting tens or even lower units because often times, this is borne out of ignorance.

Mental restriction is the worst of all restrictions. While God called Gideon, a mighty man of valour, He called himself the least in his father’s house (Judges 6:11-15). While God gave the spies the assurance that the land to be spied was already theirs irrespective of the size of the present occupants, unfortunately, ten of them likened themselves to Grasshoppers (Numbers 13:33). Now, in these two instances, what do you except God to do, to force them or beg them? No! Low self-concept is never humility, it is ignorance. It is from hell.

Every limitation is first of all mental before it becomes physical. What do you say? Who do you move with? Where do you go? Which television programme do you watch? What do you hear? What name were you given among several others that strangulate or reduce your sense of self-worth? The good news is that, you can increase the level of your self-worth, by just avoiding things that will choke your sense of worth. Your God has the whole world in His hands, so, think big, plan big, pray big, but live simple! Peace be unto you!
