OFFENCES WILL SURELY COME
November 19th, 2013 - (0 Comments)

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “IT IS LETTING GO THAT MAKES YOU STRONGER”

Memory Verse: “Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times” Matthew 18:22.

Indeed, when you think of the people you need to forgive, often they are the same people you love the most. The trauma of offences is most grievous when it comes from loved ones. They are the ones Satan will use to unsettle your mind, to destabilize the peace of your mind and worst still, they cause emotional /psychological imbalance. Anytime you are offended, whether you are aware of it or not, the seed of bitterness is sown, and this could degenerate into anything. This is exactly where proper caution and care must be taken.

Sometimes, in life, it is not holding on (especially to offences) that makes one stronger, it is letting go. Overlooking an offence, or sincerely letting go of offenders from within, neither makes you stupid nor reduce your personality in any little way. Rather, it relieves you of burden, gives you victory, and removes barriers that would have hindered your access to the presence of God.

Should I unfold another truth? It is not everyone who offends you that will come to you to ask for forgiveness! Some people might not even know they offended you. Some might have even forgotten. So, for how long do you want to carry the heavy load of offences? Do you want to spend your entire lifetime nursing grudges, feeling bitter or living in hostility? Can’t you see Satan in action? Come on, stop it! Nothing good can ever come out of an embittered mind.

There is no day you will not be offended, but to make sure your life’s race is not hindered, you must forgive people regularly; even in advance as Jesus did in Luke 22:32 ‘Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you… But I have prayed for you…’ You cannot exhaust forgiving people. People will always offend you, hence today’s memory verse.

Make forgiveness an unbroken rule of your life. Forgive yourself for you will never be perfect. Forgive your enemies, for the fire of your anger will only consume you and your family. And the most difficult of all – you must forgive your friends, because they are close enough to hurt you by accident. So let go, pardon someone today! Your heaven is declared opened in Jesus name.

GOD IS KNOWN IN SILENCE
November 18th, 2013 - (0 Comments)

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “SILENCE IS AS DEEP AS ETERNITY”

Memory Verse: “But the Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him” Habakkuk 2:20.

It is in silence that God is known. Silence is more eloquent than words; it is as deep as eternity. Do you know why all the troubles of life come upon us? They do because we refuse to sit quietly for a while, each day in our closet. Surely, we need to find God, but He cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is a friend of silence; look at the silent works of nature: trees, flowers and grass grow in silence. The stars, moon and sun move in silence.

In the days of Habakkuk, when a king goes to the temple on any of the eastern festivals, such as the Bairham, the deepest silence reigns among all his retinue or foreign ambassadors. They all bow respectfully before him; but no word would be spoken, no sound would be uttered.

The word silence in this context means a state of total surrender/absolute trust in God. Silence is saying to God: ‘I have come to the last bus-stop, I have nowhere to go. If you do not help me, I am helpless’. This is silence! It is an active state of looking up to God, beyond friends and human helpers. It is a state of having done all you stand with your heart in active trust. When God seems silent on your case, it is time for you to be silent. It is not time to run around or seek for help from other sources. Do not ever complain, even when God is doing what you do not understand, be still and know He is God.

Make time for the quiet moments as God whispers and the world is loud. What obvious difference has it made in your life, career or business, since you have been engaged in the hustling and bustling of day-to-day activities? In order to increase your level of efficiency, effectiveness and productivity, make out at least 30 minutes from the 24 hours you have in a day to reflect, meditate and listen to God; He has something to tell you. Remember, God speaks in a still small voice. Only those who listen calmly can hear. Would you do that today? God bless you!

THE UNUSUAL AFFLICTION
November 16th, 2013 - (0 Comments)

QUOTE OF THE DAY: “THE MOST GIFTED ARE THE MOST AFFLICTED”

Memory Verse: “So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you” 2 Corinthians 4:12.

I came across a book written by one anointed man of God some years ago tittled: The perils of the anointed. Having patiently gone through the contents of the book, I realized that the most gifted are the most afflicted. God takes the most eminent and choicest of His servants for the choicest and most eminent afflictions. What does this mean? Those who have received the ‘most’ grace from God are able to bear the most afflictions from God; ‘as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten’ Revelation 3:19.

As you read this thought, a question may have erupted from your mind: why is it that the most gifted are the most afflicted? Is God wicked or partial? No! All you have been allowed to go through, all you are still going through and all you will still go through is for the benefit of many. It is not out of wickedness, but unto destiny fulfillment that many may be blessed. It happens so you can develop both physical and mental capacity that will enable you carry through that huge investment of God in you.

This is the reason Moses suffered what his mates did not suffer. This is the reason Paul suffered the most of all the Apostle. This is the reason Joseph suffered what his blood brothers did not suffer – from the pit to Portiphar’s house; from Portiphar’s house to prison and from maximum prison to the palace. What an experience! All because he was the only one whose sheaf stood tallest amongst those of his other eleven brothers.

Each time you say; ‘I am gifted’, ‘I am called’, ‘I am anointed’, you are indirectly saying I am the one that will suffer most; I am the one that will bear or carry the heaviest burden; I am the one that will make the greatest sacrifice. This is not to intimidate you but to strengthen and prepare you. Special assignment calls for special training and special tools, so stop crying. You have an uncommon destiny. Wipe your tears away. Hold on and stay with God. It is well!
