QUOTE OF THE DAY: “YOU CAN PRAY AMISS, BUT YOU CAN’T PRAISE AMISS”

ANCHOR TEXT: As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated

2 Chronicles 20:22.

When you are bombarded and overwhelmed by pressures and challenges of life, chances are you will not be able to pray effectively. In moments like this, gratitude and praise remain the easiest and time-tested way to access the presence of God. It melts all barriers. It launches you into a realm of no limits. It is not every prayer that God accepts but He accepts every praise because therein He dwells. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel (Psalms 22:3).We can’t possibly exhaust talking about the wonders of praise. There is something so incredible about it. King Jehoshaphat and his people were nothing compared to the size and weapons in the arsenal of men of Ammon and Moab that besieged them. And as a matter of fact, there was effective prayer they could pray in that moment of fear and anxiety. However, in the midst of this confusion, a word came from the Lord through His prophet that he should shift to praise – something ridiculous. Amazingly, as they were praising God, God turned their enemies against each other, and they fought themselves to death.
